My loved one is newly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and I was wondering if there are specific foods or a type of diet that might be helpful to slow the progression of the disease? -Doug R.

No particular foods are likely to play a part in slowing dementia.  Eating a healthy diet in general will maintain overall health and general well-being.  Food is also an important part of our cultures, traditions and childhood memories.  For now, make food enjoyable and eating a pleasant experience.
