My husband is in dementia stage 6/7 and does not like to change his day clothes to night clothes. He also does not know how to use the bathroom. What should we do as we are both over 80? -Sabina S.

It sounds like you are having a hard time. In the short term, maybe you can have your husband’s clothes be for day and night–sweatpants, for instance. He can sleep in them and put on new ones in the morning. As for the bathroom, are you using any products, like pull-ups? They can be put on and taken off like underwear, but will also absorb fluids.

It does seem, though, like you are at a point where you need more help. I would like to refer you to Lifespan.
