Memories of Julys Past

The month of July brings Independence Day and observable signs of summer's official start. This time of year also invokes memories of family gatherings, picnics, backyard fun, and pool/beach activities. Try these tips from LifeSpan for helping your loved one with dementia to reminisce about the past.

Not Simply "Going for Ice Cream"

July is National Ice Cream Month for good reason--it's the perfect time of year to say "yes" to the ice cream truck coming up the street or taking an unplanned jaunt to the local ice cream shop. Outings are a great way to engage your loved one with dementia, but they require less spontaneity and more planning in order to be successful. With our help, going for ice cream can still be a treat!
